About Kids' Chance of South
Carolina
Since 1992 more than $400,000 dollars have been paid
for scholarships in South Carolina alone. As each state funds its
own programs, all funds raised in South Carolina are spent on South
Carolina students and support programs.
In the 2007 fiscal year, scholarship awards totaled $41,479.35. Scholarship
funds come from donations by individuals, groups, organizations, foundations,
and medical, legal and other professionals. Other funds originate
from special activities organized by volunteers such as the Kids’ Chance
golf tournament, barbeque, and silent auction.
Kids' Chance of
South Carolina has awarded more than
100 scholarships since 1992. Nationwide there have been 800+ scholarships
awarded. Currently South Carolina has 10 students on active scholarship.
The benefits from Kids’ Chance scholarships go beyond improving
individual students’ lives. Kids’ Chance graduates are
working as lawyers, doctors, nurses, environmental scientists, teachers
and counselors. Every day, Kids’ Chance graduates work to make
their communities healthy, safe, fair, caring places to live.
Kids’ Chance scholarships certainly help with tuition costs, but
they are more than money—they are an investment for a successful
future—they are help and hope. |
